Supergirl season 5 trailer: Lena Luthor punches … Kara Danvers?
At the end of the trailer below for the upcoming batch of episodes, you can see Lena punching Kara in the face after calling her by her actual name. It’s a reminder that this is not the same Lena that we’ve seen in the past; she now feels betrayed over Kara and all of her friends keeping her secret for as long as they did. It’s a natural human emotion that Lena is feeling, but her reaction to Kara’s big news is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Lena-related problems.
After all, you also have the subject of technology to rope in here, as this is going to be one of the largest components to this upcoming batch of episodes. Technology is taking over the world — it’s changing the way we think and act, and not all of it is the sort of thing we should embrace. As a matter of fact, we don’t. This is a dangerous thing that can overtake our lives and question the way in which we look at the world. These are some of the emotions pointed out at the start of the trailer, but Lena Luthor embraces technology. It’s one of the few things within this world she feels like she can count on after feeling a sting of betrayal from her friends. She thought that they were with her and were telling her everything.
Let’s make one thing clear — just because it seems like Lena is bad in the trailer doesn’t mean that she is — we don’t think that she’s a villain. She’s just someone who is hurt and who has a lot of power. She can be good and we’ve seen that, time and time again. This is a huge problem that needs to be worked through but over time, it should be.
