The Hills: New Beginnings episode 5 preview: Brody Jenner faces the fire

The Hills: New Beginnings episode 5 is coming up on MTV Monday night, and this episode is about more than just your standard reality TV drama. This is more about Brody Jenner facing a threat that is legitimately world-changing, as a fire could end up engulfing much of the home that he cares so much about.

In the video below, you can get a good sense of some of what we’re talking about as Brody faces off against something that cost many people their homes when it first happened. The Woolsey Fire was devastating to big parts of Los Angeles and Ventura County and it caused Brody to have to make some big decisions. How long do you stay to protect your home, and what do you do if there are disagreements in the moment. He and Kaitlynn have some discussions about this on Monday night’s episode as you can see the devastation from the fire play out on the show itself. This is one that will take a long period of time for the community to recover from, but people have a tendency to be resilient in such times. The best thing that you can do is keep fighting.

While Brody is doing his best to deal with this natural disaster, there could be more reality-TV disasters (a very different type, mind you) taking place in Las Vegas. The video gives you a small sense of some of what’s coming; meanwhile, the synopsis indicates that there is a lot of ground covered over the course of the hour:

The group heads to Vegas to see Brody’s DJ performance, and Justin finds himself in the middle of a showdown between Audrina and Stephanie. Wildfires tear through Malibu, and Kaitlynn fears for Brody’s life when he stays inside the evacuation zone.

From the way in which that reads, you’re going to see Brody in Vegas before he goes back home and the fires start to rage. As for the Stephanie – Audrina – Justin drama, let’s just file that under something we hope is over sooner rather than later. Do we really need to deal with that for some extended period of time anymore?
