Outlander season 5: Another look inside a rainy filming
Last night, Sam Heughan posted on Twitter that he was dealing with night shoots — and in the rain, no less! Now, we’re seeing some cast members also dealing with filming in the rain. The only difference is that this time around, it’s in the daytime.
In a new post on his Instagram Stories today, you can see Cesar Domboy (Fergus) working in the rain alongside Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Kyle Rees (John Quincy Myers). We know that you’ll be seeing Domboy more consistently through season 5, as Fergus and Marsali (Lauren Lyle) will be moving their family to Fraser’s Ridge. This part of the world is going to continue to expand and become something more of a community. That’s essential as we get closer to the end of the season, especially as one of the primary goals the writers are looking to achieve here is create more stakes around Fraser’s Ridge itself. The more you invest into it, the more you have to lose. That is what could make this entire situation so difficult with Governor Tryon insisting that Jamie hunt down Murtagh.
The conflict between the Regulators and the British rulers is a spark plug for the Revolutionary War — rain or shine, our heroes are going to have to contend with working to find their place in this crazy world.
If there is any silver lining that we would pass along for the cast and crew working in the rain, it’s this — once they get to the other side of all of this, the end result should prove to be worthwhile. Watching characters move about in the rain looks really great on television the majority of the time you see it, and we have to imagine that it’s going to prove to be the same thing here with Jamie, John, and Fergus.
