Given that Fear the Walking Dead is at Comic-Con this year, it only made sense that someone asked Alycia Debnam-Carey all about what’s going on — and she was equally confused when she first read the script. Speaking on the matter via TVLine, here is some of what she had to say:
“When I first read it, I did call up [producers] and was like ‘yo, what’s happening?’. I got a few details.”
In the aftermath of what happened, Debnam-Carey makes it clear that this event will inspire Alicia to think a great deal about what she’s doing, her mission to help people, and a whole lot more. She also did slip up about a scene involving a shower coming up on accident.
The positive thing that comes out of what Debnam-Carey had to say here is that it doesn’t seem as though she’s asked off the show. If she wants to be there and the producers get rid of the characters, that’s where some of our personal frustrations will escalate out of control. We’ve already lost Madison and pretty much every other character from the pilot — do we need to lose Alicia, too? (Here’s the answer: No. We don’t need to lose Alicia. We really hope that this doesn’t happen.)
Sunday’s episode should offer more clarity — if not then, there are at least another batch of episodes coming up that can shine a larger light on the story.
