Oliver Queen (Arrow), Alex Danvers (Supergirl) advance in Arrrowverse hero poll

Arrowverse - Oliver QueenIf you love Oliver Queen of Arrow and also Alex Danvers of Supergirl, you have a reason to celebrate within this article!

Earlier this month cat CarterMatt, we kicked off the Arrowverse hero poll with the simple purpose of working to identify who were some of the most-popular heroes within the world of these shows. As you can see above, there were four contenders within wave 1 of the poll — Oliver, Alex, Zari of Legends of Tomorrow, and Cisco of The Flash.

The results for wave one were finalized today, and it’s clear that Alex and Oliver are smooth sailing moving into the next round! Not only did both of them advance, but it wasn’t altogether close in the end. Oliver took home the top spot with the largest vote total, but since we’ve noted that the top two heroes are moving forward in every round, he is being joined by Alex. Chyler Leigh and Stephen Amell’s characters have delivered a lot of powerful storytelling over the past few years and we know that there is more to come for each! With Oliver, there’s obviously a sense of finality coming up given that the final season of Arrow is on tap. We know that with Supergirl, it’s going to have a little bit more life … or at least we hope so.

So who will Oliver and Alex be competing with? For the time being, that remains to be determined … but it will be figured out over the next few days. On July 17, the next round of this tournament will begin and there are going to be eight semifinalists in total.

Congratulations to fans of Alex and Oliver! Remember that both seasons of the show are going to premiere on The CW this October, and we should get a little bit of news about all of them when we roll around to San Diego Comic-Con a little bit later this summer.
