As we prepare for the NCIS season 17 premiere to start filming, that leads us to some other questions — most of them about Ziva. It’s hard not to include her in almost everything when it comes to this episode! We’re talking here about characters she could be reuniting with in her first episode back. After all, it makes no sense to bring back Cote de Pablo only to then not have her reunite with some familiar faces! Consider this article to be one all about the three people we most want to see her with.
Just in case you’re wondering why Gibbs isn’t on the list, it’s because Mark Harmon’s character feels like a given. We’ve seen the two of them together once and because of that, we have to think that it will happen again.

McGee – Other than Gibbs, McGee is the only other agent who was even on the team when Ziva was around — that makes the reunion between the two a no-brainer. Tim knows her and understands her and because he also worked under Gibbs, he’ll be able to relate to her history in a way some other characters will not.
Palmer – One of the best moments of “She” was hearing Ellie mention the “basement confidant” that Ziva had, a certain Mr. H. He also was able to tell her about a personal attachment Ziva had to a case. While we don’t think that the two would have just an abundance of screen time together, it would be nice to have the two of them in the same room one more time.
Bishop – One of the things that we wonder following the season 16 finale is this: Would Ziva have turned up in the closing minutes even if the events of “She” never happened? It’s possible, but we think story-wise it is Ellie’s actions that acclerated things and got us to where we were moving into the premiere.
Remember that NCIS season 17 production will be underway in mere days, and you better believe we’ll have more coverage! For now, head over here to read more about what to expect and not expect from the first episode back.
