Fuller House season 5 episode 5 tapes; Dave Coulier directs

Fuller House season 5

For those wanting the latest Fuller House season 5 progress report, here’s some good news — both from a taping and director standpoint!

Last night, the fifth episode of the final season taped at the show’s Burbank studio in front of a live audience — the enthusiasm was there from all of the people in attendance, as we imagine that it will be for the rest of the season. It’s hard to imagine a situation where there wouldn’t be excitement for people who have loved this franchise since the early days of Full House. No story spoilers here, but we feel like the final season will be the perfect combination of romance, wacky Fuller family hijinks, and hopefully some fun family moments along the way.

To go along with this taping, we’ve also got some director news! In a new post on Instagram, Dave Coulier revealed that he is directing this episode! This is far from the first time that he’s had the role (he’s done it on four different occasions already) — one of the joys of Fuller House coming back is that it does give some of the original cast more opportunities to stretch their wings a little bit. For Coulier, that means having a real shot at showing off more that he can do behind the camera. This is a skill that he can carry over to future shows, especially other multi-camera sitcoms who would benefit heavily from having some TV royalty lending them a helping hand behind the scenes.

All of this preparation and filming is being done so that Fuller House season 5 can premiere on Netflix a little bit later this year (think in terms of the holiday season, most likely). We discussed recently that there is a chance the franchise can live on in other forms like a spin-off, but we’re not sure we see the series proper jumping over to another network or service. (Though, stranger things have happened.)
