Homeland season 8: When could Showtime release first trailer?
So the question that we’re left to wonder now is this: Is the final season still coming out this fall? At the moment, the clear answer to that is yes. It doesn’t appear as though there are any plans to shake things up with the final season and delay them — the only reason for it taking this long is because of some of the demands that go along with filming overseas. With this being the final season, there was a real desire to bring the show back to some of its roots and that includes taking on threats that are located in all directions outside of the United States.
So long as this timeline stays what it is, the next thing to likely expect is some sort of trailer reveal at some point when we get around to the next couple of months. Showtime won’t want to release more information on Homeland too early, mostly due to the fact that they don’t want to slow down their momentum on the show too much ahead of time. Once they start promoting it heavily, they’ll want to do so at a rate that eventually builds towards the premiere being as strong as humanly possible.
If we were Showtime, this is how we would arrange much of the next few months — release the official trailer in around September leading into an early November launch. That gives you time to be eligible for the Golden Globes while also giving viewers a chance to dive into Homeland episodes at a time around the holidays when there isn’t too much else going on within the world of TV. Isn’t this a way to arrange things where almost everyone wins? We at least like to think so, other than of course the people who want more Homeland right away.
Just rest assured — more is coming.
