Outlander season 5 filming news; Lauren Lyle, Caitlin O’Ryan birthdays!
According to Glasgow Live, on Sunday morning (starting at around 5:00 a.m. local time leading into 11:00), there will be some closures within Paisley, which borders Glasgow and is right in the nexus of where the Starz series tends to film. If you’re local and want more specifics, High Street/Wellmeadow Street will be closed down from Storie Street up to Walker Street.
As for who is going to be filming in the area, that’s something that isn’t released ahead of time — if you’re trying to scope out various cast members, don’t be disappointed if you don’t see anyone recognizable! Odds are, the area will be well-secured to keep spoilers at bay.
What we’re equally curious about at the moment is what will be filmed in the area. Doing a little bit of Google Maps research, it feels like that stretch in Paisley is a little more modern than many other streets they’ve used before, with a number of various stores lining both sides of it. There are a couple of historic buildings that could double as something for local North Carolina government, or maybe there could be a few little vistas that could be used for a scene in the 20th century, if there was a particular use for that.
While it may be hard to picture the street being perfect for an Outlander scene set in the past, the cast and crew are wizards! They may have an idea for this that is not altogether apparent on the surface.

They’ve done a fantastic job through their time on the show as Marsali and Lizzie, and there could be plenty more coming up for both. With Marsali, we’re looking forward to the opportunity to see what her life will be like at Fraser’s Ridge. Meanwhile, Lizzie may have an opportunity to settle in now and she can wash away whatever guilt she feels over thinking that Roger was Brianna’s assaulter. She was only trying to help!
