Luke Islam gets Julianne Hough Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent
Luke was her first Golden Buzzer ever and while she’s done judging on other reality shows, there is no experience quite like this one. Golden Buzzer acts can be at times extremely talented, but they can also carry with them a lot of emotion, as well. These are personal stories that you’re getting a chance to experience — it’s those stories plus the talent that help to make them stand out from what is clearly a rather crowded pack of acts.

Now, without further ado, let’s get to talking a little bit more about her choice. Luke Islam is a young singer who has serious aspirations of being on Broadway. His favorite judge also just so happens to be Julianne and he’s followed her career for most of his young life. He chose tonight to perform a Waitress classic in “He Used to Be Mine” and he was all sorts of fantastic. He’s still very young and it’s hard to project what the future is going to hold for someone like him. Nonetheless, this Golden Buzzer moment does set him up in a big way — he’s got some legitimate start quality about him.
The advice from Simon Cowell was great in the midst of all of the hype and excitement. He wanted him to be careful with his songs and make sure that he continues to diversify and surprise people. What we did love about this Golden Buzzer moment is that you could tell just how much it meant to Luke — it was his world and you could see from the moment she pressed it that he would carry it with him for however long he is on the show moving forward.
Luke will go straight forward now to the live shows for season 14, airing later this summer!
