Outlander notes: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, & More4 broadcasts

OutlanderToday’s Outlander notes are venturing far and wide to give you updates on the show and some of your favorite cast members. We’ve got something funny out of America, something via Caitriona Balfe at Wimbledon, and then also a little bit of news regarding telecasts on the show on More4 in the United Kingdom.

Let’s start with the More4 news, as this should prove to be yet another opportunity for viewers to get hooked on the series — if they’re not hooked already, of course. This network is the linear television home for Outlander in the UK (new episodes arrive via Amazon); now, we can report that the third season will be premiering on Wednesday! While the network is a good bit behind where Outlander is in its present run, this is a welcome opportunity for new viewers to jump on board the show who either aren’t internet-savvy or just want to casually dive in.

It’s like we’ve said already in relation to Outlander landing over on Netflix with the first two seasons in America — any chance to get more people on board is a win.

What’s happening elsewhere?

For Caitriona Balfe, she got a chance to break away from filming today with a visit to Wimbledon — it’s one of the top-tier venues for any sporting event in the world and with the beautiful summer weather, it’s one of the better places to be to take in a sporting event. It’s better than being in Southern California, where we’re going to be getting closer to triple-digit temperatures later this week.

Meanwhile, a new video featuring Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin has surfaced from their BuzzFeed appearance back when season 4 was on the air. It was actually filmed some time ago (prior to the start of season 5 filming), but its new release gives you a chance to have a laugh. We’re always going to be a proponent of more joint interviews featuring this cast in general — they all have such a great relationship that they play off of each other well in this environment.
