Sam Heughan, Outlander cast support Tobias Menzies’ new play

Tobias MenziesOne of the best things about the Outlander family is strictly that — the family aspect of it. Even if they’re not always on the show together with each other, they still find a way to send a lot of support to one another. for the latest evidence of that, just take a look at what Sam Heughan and others are doing in support of Tobias Menzies’ The Hunt, the new play at the Almeida Theatre in London. (You can find out some more details over here.)

Even though the play hasn’t been running for too long as of yet, we are seeing some fantastic support coming its way! If you look below, you can see what both Heughan and also Colin McFarlane had to say about The Hunt and Tobias. In the case of Sam, we know that he and Tobias had quite a kinship working together on the series — they elevated each other with devastating performances during the final episodes of season 1. It still remains some of the best work we’ve seen from either of them. McFarlane, meanwhile, first joined the show last season — after Tobias was largely gone. (He did appear briefly in “Down the Rabbit Hole” last season.)

We’re sure that for much of the cast, there’s going to be an eagerness to see Tobias in person if the opportunity presents itself. The #1 issue is, of course, finding the time to go down from Scotland to London in order to see him in the middle of a busy production period. We know that for many cast members, theatre is near and dear to their hearts — it’s how the majority of actors, including Sam, fell in love with the craft. There’s also a history of Outlander cast members receiving tremendous commendation for their work on the stage. Just look at Laura Donnelly and all of the recognition she’s received in The Ferryman.

The Hunt will be going on until we get around to August, so there are still some chances to go and see it, if you can get tickets for it, anyway.

What else is out there for Tobias Menzies?

It’s been a busy time for Tobias in general since departing Outlander. He had a fantastic run on season 1 of The Terror and next, you’ll have a chance to see him on season 3 of The Crown as Prince Philip.
