NCIS: Los Angeles season 11: When will it begin filming?

If you find yourself interested in learning more about NCIS: Los Angeles season 11, consider this your first bit of insight … and also a reminder that you’re going to be waiting a good while in order to see the cast and crew back on the set.

While the show’s producers have not issued a start date in some official fashion for the new season, you can go ahead and expect LL Cool J, Chris O’Donnell, and the rest of the cast to be back out in their familiar locales in August. That is a couple of weeks, at least, later than the filming start date for either NCIS or NCIS: New Orleans.

So why do this? It’s a matter of practicality more than anything else, and it’s also a matter of NCIS: Los Angeles actually filming some episodes in advance. There was some footage shot for the CBS show this past spring and that enables some of the cast to have a little more time off in the summer. It’s just something that this show has done for a long time as a means to “bank” some stories in advance.

Once the cast is back to work, NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 production will then continue leading up to the spring of 2020. from there, we will have to wait and see whether or not there is a season 12 renewal coming up on the horizon. We know that we would love to see it, but that by no means guarantees that we will. It’ll take a little bit of time in order for CBS to figure that out.

What will NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 do to kick off filming?

We imagine that a big social-media blast is a great way to do! The cast of this show is generally good at pointing out when they’re back; heck, they did so last year and that was when there were questions as to whether or not O’Donnell, Daniela Ruah, LL, and Eric Christian Olsen were even going to be around due to the season 9 cliffhanger.
