The InBetween episode 5 preview: ‘Another Broken Morning’

The InBetween episode 5

What lies ahead on The InBetween episode 5? We’re going to have a chance to see this story play out next week — we cannot stress enough how great this is after spending most of the season leaping back and forth from repeats to new episodes. It’s been a scheduling mess. The show itself has shown itself to be very much entertaining — this is a twisted journey through life and death that finds a way to entertain without getting corny. This isn’t the first show ever that has the whole “character talks to dead people” premise, but where things get special is how it tows the line. It’s not overly sentimental, and nor is it hokey. Truth is, Cassie’s abilities are a curse as much as a blessing. She’s being visited repeatedly by a serial killer, even if she does run across some more benevolent figures, as well. Take Abigail, who looks to be a part of the upcoming “Another Broken Morning.”

Within episode 5, you’re going to see another murder case plus another visit from the dead. So what makes this one so special? Think in terms of the size and scale of it. This is a case that has a global reach … and could have global consequences if something goes south.

Below, CarterMatt has the official The InBetween episode 5 synopsis with some more news when it comes to what lies ahead:

07/10/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : Cassie (Harriet Dyer) is drawn to a young mother who needs her help and encounters young Abigail (guest star, Sarah Abbott) once again. Tom (Paul Blackthorne) and Damien (Justin Cornwell) investigate a complicated murder that has international ramifications. TV-14 V

In thinking about the scale of the case, we do have to wonder this: Is Cassie going to be able to continue to do this job forever without the entire world figuring out? One of the stranger things about the show is that while her abilities are such that they would make her world-famous, she’s not seeking that out. Yet, she’s also not shying away completely. She exists almost in this strange plane where she can be herself without too many intrusions and she’s lucky that nobody has ever come into the scene and figured something out. Imagine what would happen if there are more people aware of what she did and tried to exploit her for nefarious purposes.
