Good Trouble season 2 episode 4 preview: Davia’s mom; Callie’s mistakes

Next week, Good Trouble season 2 episode 4 is bringing you “Unfiltered.” What can you expect? For starters, a storyline about family that doesn’t have to do with Callie or Mariana! Given what we’ve seen and known about this show over the eight months, that’s surprising. It’s Davia’s mother who will be in the City of Angels next week and her return will dig up a lot of old issues. Beyond that, there’s also the question about how the two will interact in the present. It’s one thing to be focusing simply on the past; it’s another to look towards the future and realize that nothing is altogether rosy there, either.

As for Callie and Mariana, you’re going to see both of them try to handle problems that arise from what were, at first, good intentions. Callie wants to help people. That’s why she got involved in the legal profession in the first place. Mariana wants to change the tech landscape. That does mean that one good thing leads to another good thing and another. There are some bad moments and some speed bumps that tend to populate the road. Mariana should’ve seen some of hers coming from the moment she first realized that doing a beta test for an app at a party was a bad idea — so much negative stuff can happen and by no means are you prepared for it!

Davia’s mom comes to town, stirring up old issues. Callie and Malika make some mistakes attempting to help people. Meanwhile, Mariana tries to figure out what to do about the problems from their app beta test and gets confronted by the other women on the grievance committee.

This is the episode where a lot could change in terms of Mariana’s career. Dealing with the grievance committee is not the easiest thing in the world to deal with and it feels like she’s been constantly on the verge of both success and great failure at Speckulate. One mistake can turn the tide, one way or the other.
