Scream: Resurrection sneak peek: See Paris Jackson’s cameo
In the sneak peek below, you can see Jackson (who has also appeared on STAR) as a young woman dressed up for Halloween when she receives a mysterious, ominous phone call. All of this is meant to be an homage to the original movie from so many years ago, where Drew Barrymore had a small cameo in the opening minutes of the movie. The ending here is 100% different (and we don’t want to spoil it), but we think that this is meant to produce the same effect. This preview is all about giving you just a small taste of what this version of Scream will bring to the table. The plan is for this to be chock full of scares, but also still have some of that same strange, offbeat sense of humor that you got from the original project so many years before. They want you to be feeling a ton of different emotions, and not all of them are fear all the time.
Watching Scream: Resurrection should prove itself to be an especially weird experience for many different reasons. For starters, this project originally filmed years ago with the intention that it would air on MTV. For whatever reason, it was shelved for an extremely long span of time and then moved over to VH1. There have been some casting updates announced over time, with Tyga and Mary J. Blige being some of the other big names from the music world.
Even if this turns out to be more campy than creepy, we definitely think we’re going to be in for it for all of its run. The six episodes will air over the course of three nights in two-hour blocks. There’s going to be just enough time to see this story play out, and then leave so many of you wanting more. If Scream: Resurrection manages to achieve that, we’ve got a good feeling it will have properly done its job.
