NCIS season 17: What will the next two weeks look like?
So what’s going to happen over these said two weeks? We should note that nobody’s back at work just yet on new episodes. Filming (as confirmed by Maria Bello) is going to be kicking off on July 15 — just two weeks from today! The cast is in the process of getting in as much travel and relaxation as possible. Wilmer Valderrama has been traveling as of late, most recently to Paris. Meanwhile, we’re sure that Bello found some time to relax in between promoting NCIS at the Monte Carlo TV Festival and Emily Wickersham has been to Ibiza and some other places in Europe. They have to get all of this vacationing in now, given that NCIS is a job that will take them through most of the remainder of the year and then the first four or five months of 2020. It’s a long commitment — a fruitful commitment, but still a long one.

So what is going on at the moment is the writers, the crew, and other folks are doing their best to get everything prepared. There are some early plans likely in place already for the premiere, let alone an episode or two beyond that. Television works in a way where at the time in which the cast turns up, everything is ready to go for them. We’re sure that the locations are found, the camera crew is ready, and it makes filming so much more efficient that way. NCIS is a year-round responsibility for some of the people at the top. When the actors aren’t working, there are other people who are. Meanwhile, if the writers are on a break, there may be other people still hard at work. There’s rarely a dull moment and we imagine that come next week, most of the cast will descend back into town to prepare for what is coming up next.
