Suits season 9 promo teases Mike Ross’ return, Harvey’s … resignation?

Suits

The latest Suits season 9 promo has arrived, and we already like to think that this one is going to send the hype train barreling down the tracks at new-found speeds.

In the video below (courtesy of TVLine), you can get a good sense at some of what is coming within these final stretch of episodes this summer. The big headline-grabber is going to be the presence of Mike Ross, seen at the end of the promo. He’s going to be around for at least the fifth episode (and possibly the series finale). While there will be some good ol’-fashioned bromance moments between him and Harvey Specter, they’re going to be at odds over a case that sends Mike up against his old pal and Samantha Wheeler. He will interact with some other characters, as well, just in case you were worried that Mike’s return would not bring to you all of the proper Suits nostalgia you crave.

While Mike’s return will get most of the attention, this promo does also set up the latest in a long line of is the firm about to be shut down? challenges. This time around, said challenger is none other than Faye Richardson, a powerful woman who comes in prepared to snatch however many of the firm’s assets she needs to in order to complete her job. She works with the New York Bar, otherwise known as the last organization you want to see wandering around the firm if you are Harvey or Louis Litt. Harvey doesn’t respond well to oversight, which is why we’re not altogether shocked to see him balk at her orders. As a result of his roguish behavior, however, you will see Harvey be asked to turn in his resignation letter.

Want to get some video discussion on Mike’s return? Then check out our initial reaction at the bottom of this article! Once you do that, remember to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube and also view our show playlist. That’s the best way to make certain you are constantly in the loop.

Could Suits end without Harvey being a part of the firm, whose name seems to change every handful of episodes? We can’t imagine it, but the threat of it is a compelling enough reason to watch. That is, if you weren’t already compelled enough to watch for a billion or so other reasons. (Harvey/Donna, watching Louis go off on people, and so on.)
