Euphoria episode 4 preview: Rue does her best to get clean

Next week, Euphoria episode 4 is coming onto HBO — and bringing with it a story that will throw a lot of different twists right at you. It’s also going to continue to bring you to some personal revelations. Take, for example, Rue trying to do what she can to get her life together when Jules really needs her. She’s not a perfect person — as a matter of fact, she’s far from it. She’s still young and has her fair share of vulnerabilities and issues that she’s going to need to overcome. Episode 4 is a chance to see her bounce back, in addition to a number of other things. Take, for example, Cassie and Molly making a risky decision that could prove to have dire for their future.

This is an episode that could prove to be a breaking point. If nothing else, all signs do suggest that we’re looking at something that will continue to validate this show’s existence in a big way.

Rue (Zendaya) tries to get clean for Jules (Hunter Schafer) and chaperones Gia (Storm Reid) at the carnival. Jules (Hunter Schafer) encounters Cal (Eric Dane) with his family. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Maddy (Alexa Demie), annoyed at their boyfriends, decide to do molly together. Kat (Barbie Ferreira) hangs out with Ethan (Austin Abrams) until she misreads a situation. Nate (Jacob Elordi) reveals who he really is.

We’ll admit that to us, one of the biggest twists when it comes to Euphoria is the mere fact that the series managed to get on board Eric Dane in the first place. Moving from The Last Ship over to this show is about as stark of a career change as you can get. Still, the appeal of this show for most of its cast had to be the opportunity to jump into a new work that is bold, innovative, and unafraid of taking big creative swings. These are the sort of moves that are going to get you recognition for creating art.

Also, remember this — real art is not always loved by everyone. Euphoria is going to remain controversial. That was a part of the goal and this journey from the start.
