A Million Little Things season 2: Chandler Riggs will have major role

How much of Chandler Riggs as PJ are we going to get on A Million Little Things? Per the show’s executive producer, enough to make you very happy.

In a new post on his Twitter, DJ Nash confirmed that Riggs is going to be a “big part” of the upcoming season. We first met PJ near the end of the first season, and just by virtue of his relationships with other characters, it felt essential that he continued to be included in the ensemble. It was just hard to feel confident until Nash’s confirmation — we haven’t heard anything about a series-regular promotion so there was never a guarantee he would be back.

Hearing Nash’s message, however, is all the validation that we need. Even if Riggs isn’t around for all of the season, he’s going to make his presence felt long enough to make an impact. This is all we could hope for following his many years on The Walking Dead. We long felt that he was one of the most underrated performers on the AMC show and his final episode is one of the most beautiful bits of acting we’ve seen in that zombie world through nine seasons. We’re still gutted to lose Carl from the mix, but sometimes things just happen and you have to move forward on the other side. Bigger and better things can be on the horizon and with A Million Little Things, Chandler has an opportunity to take on a very different role and appeal to a very different audience.

A Million Little Things started off season 1 as a potential network TV underdog story. It was hard to figure how it was going to, especially since there were a lot of people out there who just coined it This Is Us 2.0 and didn’t give it a proper change. Emotionally there are similarities between the two shows but both structurally and in terms of content, they are very much distinct and pack in all sorts of fantastic content. Both are worthy of a spot on either your DVR or your actual live-viewing schedule. (Yes, there are people who still watch live TV these days!

Season 2 of A Million Little Things will air Thursday nights this fall on ABC, following new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy.
