‘Gossip Girl’ review: Nate and Serena learn the meeting of ‘awkward’
There really was quite a bit that unfolded during Monday night’s new episode of “Gossip Girl”: we saw both Blair face off against an old rival in Nelly Yuki, Dan convince Nate to help him publish some excerpts of his tell-all novel for the time being, and Chuck also continuing to struggle with the return of his father.
However, really all of this in our mind paled in comparison to one story that had to sound some kind of alarm for both Serena and Nate. Remember Serena’s new boyfriend Steven? Well, let’s just say that he has a child … and is the very same person that Nate is dating. This led to all sorts of hilarity as it led to Sage vowing to destroy her father’s own relationship, and Steven punching Nate in the face. The only thing that is even more surprising than all of this is the fact that by the time that this episode was over, we still saw the two relationship moving forward.
While we are not quite sure everyone agrees with this assessment, we actually have to say that this may be one of the strongest seasons of “Gossip Girl” yet. Why? With us having less than ten episodes to work with this time around, it feels more as though the executive producers are operating with more of a defined purpose, and not wasting our time with characters that are not going to matter at the end of the day. Chuck and Blair took another step closer to being together, Serena had another chance to see just how messed-up her life is, and Dan even took the next step towards becoming a new author.
What did you think about this episode, and are you enjoying the story that is going to lead to the finale?
