Is a Fuller House season 6 still possible? John Stamos’ comment

Is there still a chance for a Fuller House season 6, despite season 5 being billed as the final one over at Netflix? Maybe this is a never-say-never situation since executive producer John Stamos isn’t entirely shutting it down.

Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Stamos had the following to say on the idea of there being something — whether it be a spin-off show or a prequel — that could continue the brand and overall legacy of the series:

“There’s a lot of energy … I haven’t spoken about this at all. I’m not going to really, but there’s a lot of energy still with that show.

“There’s too much. There’s too much happiness that that show has brought for a lot of people. So it’s not going to go down easy.”

Our feeling at the moment is that the show, in its current form, will probably not venture somewhere else. It’s so hard to move a streaming show to another streaming platform because of the way in which Netflix structures their deals. It’d be fun to dream about Fuller House going from Netflix to a major network, but it’s a risky gambit convincing people who used to be watching a show however they wanted to suddenly have to watch it live.

What’s the best-case ‘Fuller House season 6′ situation?

Probably a new spin-off featuring a few characters and maybe some new players. We could see there being some venues out there for it, whether it be ABC or, perhaps, the upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service. That is the most interesting player in the midst of all of this given that Warner Horizon is the studio behind Fuller House and the studio stands to make a lot of money on their standalone streaming service. Having a show set within this world would be a great way to generate some profits.

Here’s your reason for hope in this franchise’s future perhaps more than any other — the fact that Pop/CBS just saved One Day at a Time, making it the first show to be saved by a cable network after airing on a streaming platform first. Pop is willing to take on that risky gambit that we first discussed a little bit earlier in this article. Maybe that paves the way for so many more shows to give it a go.
