Krypton season 2 episode 4 preview: How far is too far?

Everyone wants to win. It’s the truth in life, it’s the truth in sports, and it is 100% the truth in war. Nobody wants to see what they’ve worked hard to achieve fall apart into tiny little pieces … and this is a part of what’s coming up on Krypton season 2 episode 4. It’s also a part of where the show has been. Kandor is changing; General Zod’s influence is spreading, and there are questions aplenty about what a new society could look like if a certain methodology becomes the new normal.

In the promo below for season 2 episode 4, you can hear a plea that is all about trying to preserve what is there … and trying not to change too much, given how devastating the world on the other side would be. Depending on how Krypton continues to further along its story, there are some depressing overtones to it. There has to be, given the way in which the Superman mythology is constructed. This series is going to show us some dark underbellies and force us to confront some casualties of war … maybe it’s better to be prepared for them now. (To be fair, shouldn’t we have been prepared for them from the get-go?)

The ratings fight continues

Two episodes into season 2, we can’t say that we’re any less concerned than we were after the premiere. We know that shows rarely post larger ratings following the premiere, and such is the case here. Krypton is going to need to either stay extremely stable the rest of the season to have a chance at sticking around, or it’s going to need someone with a cape to fly in some more viewers. We know that Syfy obviously has some hope in the brand given the Lobo spin-off idea, but it was hard to imagine that they expected as big of a drop-off so far this season from Krypton season 1. We’re talking about a drop of a good 50% in the demo!
