Black Ink Crew: Chicago season 5 episode 14 video: Keeping the peace
At first, everything started off okay — a lot of the crew were hanging out together and enjoying one another’s company. Then, Sky arrives and we get a reminder that when Sky shows up, things have a tendency to run a little bit amok. She brings out conflict with people and it’s easy to understand why sometimes. For starters, she brings up the new shop versus the old shop, which we know from most of this season already is a point of major contention. It’s all about who are the better artists versus who are the bigger names and the draws for customers. Luckily, things don’t go completely sideways by the end of the sneak peek … but we’re not going to sit here and say that we’re confident this episode ends with a stroll along a peaceful Miami beach. Remember, the whole purpose of this trip was team bonding — there’s no real guarantee you’re going to see much of that by the end of the episode.
If Sky does cause a little bit of chaos, at least there are some resolutions and peace elsewhere. The synopsis for tonight’s episode that CarterMatt has for you below seems to indicate that:
Mandatory team bonding in Miami pays off as Charmaine and Lily put years of beef behind them; Phor makes his triumphant return to the stage; when Lily lashes out at Neek, Ryan’s hard-won 9MAG peace goes left.
It’s too bad that things are going to be falling apart within 9MAG by the end of the episode. There may need to be a team bonding trip after the team bonding trip to get everybody back together.
A reality TV tattooing connection
The tattooing world is somewhat of a small community — a lot of people know each other either via their work, or from some various conventions that they’ve appeared at over the years. This preview, for example, gives you a glimpse of former Ink Master contestant Tatu Baby. That show is obviously not mentioned (VH1 isn’t in the habit of promoting a show on another network here!), but it’s still worth noting for Ink Master fans that may not have discovered the magic that is Black Ink Crew.
If you missed it…
Did you know that there is another Black Ink Crew spin-off show coming? If not, we highly suggest that you head over to the link here and check out some more details about it. Here’s a clue: The setting this go-around is going to be Compton, California.
