‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder and a punch

There are some exciting moments coming up on “The Vampire Diaries,” and for some of them, it’s looking as though we are not going to have to wait very long at all! Specifically here, we are talking about an incident that, while funny, is going to lead to Damon Salvatore getting punched in the face by his brother Stefan.

So what’s the context here? According to a new report from Zap2It, it sounds as though Ian Somerhalder’s character is really going to have this incident of violence coming after saying something pretty hurtful to Stefan during a heated argument. This does continue the pattern set last week of Damon once again taking a walk on the dark side; after trying to change in order to get Elena and failing in his pursuit, he’s really not going to have much of a reason from here on out to try and be anyone other than himself.

If you were worried that all of this fighting is somehow going to lead to a significant rift between the two brothers, there is no reason to worry. As a matter of fact, we are going to see a rather sweet moment between Damon and Stefan happen by the time this episode is over. It’s not often that we really have an opportunity to saw “aww” when it comes to the Salvatores, but it could very well happen here. As brooding and negative as they may sometimes be, they do love each other and have (off and on) put up with each other over the past century and a half.
