“Once Upon a Time” fans, the wait is finally over! Ever since the first teaser for season 2 was unveiled at Comic-Con in San Diego in July, there was one character who just about everyone was feeling a little bit anxious to see: Captain Hook. Colin O’Donoghue’s pirate villain will be making his first official appearance of the season on Sunday night, and he will be bringing with him his fine share of madness.
The show also makes it rather clear from the get-go, as well, that this is not going to be a villain that we are going to be able to claim is somewhat soft around the edges like Regina or Rumpelstiltskin. Why? The show’s first promo below teases Hook as a man even more evil than Rumple, and it also shows us a brief scene in which it appears as though he is going to be holding the man hostage on his ship. This show does promise that at one point, he was just a charming pirate before he started to turn to the dark side.
Really, we have to admit that our biggest surprise here still is seeing Hook a little bit younger than we always envisioned him, and in some ways this makes him even more dangerous. He looks like a man that you really do want to trust, and for that reason we see all sorts of trouble starting up. The good news is that we already know he is a series regular for the rest of the year, so we are going to have plenty of opportunities to see just what this swashbuckler is really capable of.
Are you already impressed by Hook based on what we are seeing here?
