A Million Little Things season 2 filming officially underway!
This news was first confirmed by a number of cast and crew members across social media, and it represents a major step forward towards what is hopefully going to become a powerful season 2 with relatable stories and hopefully elements of healing. What we saw in the first season is the ripple effect caused by losing one person across effectively a community of friends. Now, in season 2 you can further examine the remanents. You can try to piece together and better understand the mysteries and also work on an element of self-care.
Regardless of whatever question marks are out there, the important thing to focus on with A Million Little Things is really not the mysteries. Instead, it’s about the people and some of the moments that they have with each other. Through the writing process for the new season, we’re sure that DJ Nash and the rest of the creative team focused mostly on this. We’re hoping that there will be some new faces and an opportunity to learn new things about some of the old ones.
For those who don’t know too much about the mechanics of filming, we anticipate that production on the second season will run for at least the majority of the year, if not longer. The show needs to bank as many episodes as possible in preparation for the big return to ABC this fall, which will most likely be at some point in late September. (Some major networks have announced official premiere dates, but the folks over at ABC haven’t quite gotten there just yet.) We imagine that these episodes are going to air until around the middle or end of winter, which is when the Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. timeslot could open up for something else.
When will we actually see some footage for season 2?
Most likely late August or early September. There’s no real rush for A Million Little Things season 2 to push things together for a promo too soon, even if it’s something that personally, we’d like to see. The most important thing is getting some great stories in the can and then letting ABC work some promotional magic. We saw the show get some ratings momentum after moving to Thursday and beyond a doubt, we want to see that stay strong in season 2! Anything to help get this show on the path to a season 3.
