Big Brother 21: About Christie Murphy’s store Mystic Earth Boutique

We knew that we would be getting to know a lot of interesting personalities within the Big Brother 21 house on Monday morning, but Christie Murphy takes the cake as one of the most interesting.

Based on what we saw in her interview with Jeff Schroeder, we have a feeling that her store is going to get plenty of attention! She’s the owner of a store called Mystic Earth Boutique, where she sells “free spirited clothing,” jewelry, and a number of other items. There is an Instagram for the store over at the link here, but it’s been set to private. There’s a Facebook Page for the company, which looks to be open even while she’s in the house. It’s located in Staten Island so if you’re in the greater New York area, it’s a place that you can check out if you’re a Big Brother fan and want to know more of what Christie is all about.

In a lot of ways, it’s fascinating to have a Big Brother houseguest who actually runs a physical store — there aren’t too many times where you see a contestant enter this game with such a public, specified home base. Yes, Johnny Mac was a dentist, but it’s not like he owned the practice he worked at. They still got a lot of attention because of the show.

Now that we’ve told you a thing or two about Christie’s store, we really just hope she comes across well on the show. We know how things can play out in the event she does something that people don’t like, and we could easily foresee people showing up there. We hope that doesn’t happen … not that we think that Christie will do anything unlikable. She comes across as someone who is relatable, but also empathetic. We also know from her bio that she is a big fan of Jeff and Jordan from seasons 11 and 13, and that means to us that she’s probably going to be the sort of player who doesn’t really backstab anyone and wants to just be well-liked by a lot of the country.

For now, Christie’s a player to watch within the game. She’s seemingly good at a lot of different things and while she knows the game, she doesn’t shout “superfan!” at the top of her lungs. She may be able to mask herself amidst the larger cast if she plays some of her cards right.
