American Princess episode 5 preview: Amanda, back in New York City

After tonight’s new episode, American Princess episode 5 looks to be shaking things up once more when it airs. While episode 4 offered up an opportunity to see Amanda’s friends from New York visit her at the Renaissance Faire, episode 5 is going to bring her back to New York. She was originally a fish out of water at the Faire and now, she’s moving closer to being a fish out of water back in her original pond.

We understand that it’s only been four episodes since the start of this story, but a lot has happened within that time. Amanda’s found herself a different energy and certainly a new group of friends. It’s going to probably be weird for her to be back, and the question that we’re interested in seeing is just how long she lasts there.

Amanda’s family lures her back to New York City; Delilah plans a party to celebrate Lulu and Shart’s daughter, Breeze; Maggie wrestles with Brian’s new romance; David, Stick and Shart have a “man” outing.

So even though Amanda may be going back to the city, don’t expect some of the other stories to slow down all that much — Amanda may be the focal point of American Princess, but she is far from the only person who matters in the overall story. We feel fairly confident that this is something you’ll certainly see play out over much of the season, but then also the rest of the season.

Now, we gotta issue this reminder

We’re really loving American Princess as a show, but we’re also not so oblivious as to think that it is guaranteed a second season. The ratings for the first season are far from good enough to ensure more is coming, and this is where we issue this plea to either watch live or at least encourage the others to do so. This is mostly a show that needs a larger platform and we’re not sure enough viewers outside of Lifetime are really altogether familiar with it.

Luckily, there’s also enough time over the rest of the season for the ratings to build and improve. We’re going to be bringing you more updates every step of the way.
