Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 6 preview: Fitz, Simmons’ reunion

Next week on Agents of SHIELD season 6 episode 6, you’re going to have a story you’ve been waiting to see for some time. Consider the title here of “Inescapable,” and then also the main subject matter of FitzSimmons. This is your opportunity to see the two back together!

Or, we at least think that this is an opportunity in order to see the two characters together. It feels like we’ve waited long enough and when the two are back together, it could be all sorts of romantic — or at least however romantic things can be given this show and everything that is going on at around each possible turn.

They’ve fought through space, time and alternate realities to find each other, and now, closer than ever, only their own demons can stop FitzSimmons’ reunion.

You’re going to have clearly a powerful FitzSimmons storyline within this episode, but as for everyone else, that’s what we’re going to have to wait and see on. The promo doesn’t hint at too much other than the idea of the two potentially being tormented out of their minds — is another Framework somehow involved? This is going to be a glorious, romantic at times, and possibly heartwrenching episode. We know that Fitz feels betrayed by Enoch after all that happened, but he may be too preoccupied with what’s in front of him to focus on it all that much.

Of course, we know that most of the other surviving SHIELD characters are going to be spending a tad more time together. They’ve found a way to make it all back around each other! May’s gotten away from Sarge for now, but she also knows a thing or two more about the Shrike. That seems to be important towards stopping whatever could be coming up — think in terms of the end of the entire world. This should be chaotic — but also a mighty good way to raise the stakes as we get closer to the end of the season. We have a hard time imagining that Sarge is done, even if we never see Coulson himself in the flesh again.
