Legacies season 2 spoilers: A new vampire is coming on board!
So how about a new vampire to mix things up? He could be the perfect person to throw a little spice into the proceedings? He’s someone who will offer a totally new energy to the show — but he’s also not like Klaus. This seems to be more of a fish-out-of-water vampire than someone who necessarily has evil intentions. For a little more scoop, just check out what executive producer Julie Plec had to say via TV Guide:
“We’re really excited about a new character that we’re introducing. We really want to bring in an old, old, old-world vampire … We made the rule for our school that the vampires who go to our school actually need to be teenagers… not hundreds of years [old] because then you get into some creepy math. But we want to introduce a vampire who kind of got desiccated when he was 17 in maybe the 15th century and now wakes up in the 21st century and realizes that all the rules of being a vampire have changed and that he does not fit in into this very modern world.”

If we could describe the idea of this casting in a word, this would be it: Fun. We think that this is a fun new addition to the show and it marks an opportunity to see Hope become more of a mentor. Rather than be in a position where she constantly has to seek advice from others, she can be the person helping out this newcomer — or the same goes for a few other familiar faces in this world.
While we’ve certainly had a number of old-school vampires appear on all of these CW vampire shows over the years, this one does feel very different. We’re honestly surprised that they haven’t attempted something like this before! There’s obviously going to be drama, like what happens in the event that this character bites an ordinary human and is punished for it. Yet, there could be a charm about him that is incredibly alluring. His view on the world will be different from everyone else we’ve seen — think in terms of a style or a magnetism. He is someone a few other characters will want to spend some time around. Learn how another part of history lived. How often, save for being on Legends of Tomorrow, do you get this opportunity?
