Big Brother 21 announcement coming tomorrow, per Jeff Schroeder
In a new post on Twitter, the former cast member (and frequent interviewer for the show) made it clear that there is some sort of big announcement coming tomorrow via the CBS series’ social channels. So what could it be? It seems a little bit early for some sort of official cast reveal, so it feels as though we can go ahead and rule that out. Instead, how about some other possibilities?
A vote on a returning player – This wouldn’t surprise us, given that everyone out there loves to complain about returnees and if it happens this way, the show can at least blame the viewers. We don’t foresee there being a ton of returning players, but maybe there could be a small handful (think three or four).
The one thing that is necessary if this happens is a sequester for all of the current houseguests. Nothing will happen that compromises the game! While returnees may hate being sequestered only to not get to play the game, let’s be honest — there are a LOT of people who’d love to play the game again so badly that they wouldn’t care all that much.
Some sort of other vote – What could this be? Think along the lines of something about the theme or the central twist.
The reason we’re harping so much on possible fan votes is rather simple: Why else would CBS be announcing something so soon? For a lot of other, non-vote related things, production could wait for a good while. (Remember, filming on the season starts days before the show actually premieres.) We have a hard time that a vote would be for newbies entering the game, given that there are typically cuts that happen during the sequester period.
Announcing a new way to interact with the house – Maybe CBS is plotting out some sort of new Big Brother aftershow that they want to push out there early. Or, maybe they are introducing a new app or some other way in which to interact with the house. If it’s something that CBS can use to A) extend the brand and B) make money off of, they’ll want to shout it from the Heavens.
Here’s the good news — it’s not like viewers are going to have to wait a long time for an official announcement. After all, we only gotta wait until tomorrow! We’ll be back and with that, we’ll start the speculation the moment the good news comes out.
