‘Suits’ renewed by USA for season 3

Even though the announcement was not made alongside some of the network’s other shows, this was in many ways a foregone conclusion: “Suits” was going to be back for some more episodes next summer. Now, it’s finally official.

In a statement Friday, USA programming heads Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber had the following to say when it comes to their not-so-hard decision to give this season a season 3:

“Quite simply, SUITS is as good as it gets. Sophisticated storytelling, sharp dialogue, and award-worthy performances make this show a cornerstone of our original programming lineup.”

If you have seen the show already, then odds are that you already know a little bit about why Wachtel and McCumber are singing its praises so much. Watching it starts off as a little bit of a slow burn, but this is one of those shows that really starts to build as the episodes go on. By the time that you are finished with the season, you really are not only hooked, but deeply invested with some of these characters and what they are going to be doing next.

The good news here is that “Suits” season 2 is still not even over. New episodes of the series are going to kick off in the new year, and we will get to see some pretty interesting storylines regarding not only the evolution of Mike’s relationship with Harvey, but also the opportunity to witness what Rachel is like with her father for the first time. (Trust us, this is going to be plenty of fun … and awkward.)

How thrilled are you about this news?
