Just in case you actually needed more evidence that Grant Gustin cares very much about being the title character on The Flash, we think that this new story suffices.
In a new post on his official Instagram (see below), Justin confirmed that he has had done an official tattoo inspired by the series on his arm, one that goes along with the new tattoo that he and his wife LA Thoma share. (The arrow connecting he and Thoma in the tattoo led to a rather witty response from none other than the Green Arrow himself in Stephen Amell.)
The Flash tattoo that Grant has is fairly simple and small, but that’s also for the best given that it’s easier to mask for future acting jobs … or even this current one, since Barry Allen having a Flash tattoo would probably be a dead giveaway. For Frank, having a little bit of ink is recognition of the past several years of hard work, and a journey that we have to believe was really life-changing. While Grant was known to fans of Glee and a couple of other shows before landing the role of Barry Allen, he’s now pretty much known all over the world. The Flash still remains the CW’s top-rated show in the 18-49 demographic, and it may actually be entering one of its most important seasons to date.
Why is that? Just think in terms of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, which was really set up on The Flash before any other iteration within the Arrowverse. There’s been hype around it forever, and we know that Barry’s disappearance could end up being a big part of whatever lies ahead … if it even happens.
For now, we’re crossing our fingers and hoping for the best for Barry’s future, especially since The Flash’s future as a series depends on it and its own way. We do think that this show has a little bit of time left in its run, even though Arrow is ending with its upcoming season 8.
So when will The Flash get back to work with season 6?
Think along the lines of a little bit later this summer. Typically, The Flash gets to work shortly before the start of San Diego Comic-Con, and then most of the cast goes down there to do a panel presentation teasing some of what could be coming up. Other than the crossover, there isn’t too much when it comes to specific info that is out there about the new season — unless, of course, you take the Ralph Dibny Easter egg in the finale to be a big one in terms of Sue joining the world of the show. (Find out more about that over here.)
