Outlander notes: Starz’s Emmy exhibit, Caitriona Balfe’s new movie

Outlander season 4

Happy day after World Outlander Day! We’re back with another edition of show notes today, and there are a few different things worthy of discussion.

Let’s start things off with, if you missed it, the Westfield Century City exhibit highlighting the Starz drama and many others. There were some costumes that were present, alongside some technical sketches and some other cool things to highlight the abilities of the show’s fantastic crew. This interactive exhibit is something that the network pulled off this weekend for its Emmy campaign — basically, it’s a new way to get the word out there. We know that there are also some plans today to have some sort of panel discussion, so be sure to come back later — we’ll have a little bit more information all about it as it starts to come out.

Do we think this sort of stuff helps the show’s Emmy odds? We certainly do, mostly because almost anything will if you are putting the show in a positive light. The #1 priority for a campaign should just be to get the attention of people who aren’t already Outlander fans. We know that a lot of loyal viewers/TV Academy members are already going to support it no matter what; it needs some additional support if it’s going to get the Emmy nominations it deserves.

A fun location tour

For years now, VisitScotland has done a fantastic job of using Outlander in order to promote some of its real-life locales — and we’ve got a fantastic video below from them now! This was likely released in honor of World Outlander Day, and it shows you the real-life counterparts to a number of locations — including season 4. We think that the latter is by far the most impressive, mostly because of the simple fact that the show was using Scotland as a mirror for North Carolina.

If you ever get a chance to head over to Scotland for a vacation, why not check out some of these places?

Caitriona Balfe’s new movie

If you look HERE, you can get a glimpse at the latest poster for Ford vs. Ferrari. This is a movie that Caitriona filmed during her filming hiatus last year, and it’s got a pretty outstanding cast as a whole. Hopefully, there will be some more information out there about it over the next few weeks.

Ford vs. Ferrari is going to be coming out in theaters this November, at least in America. We’ll keep our eyes peeled with some further information.
