When Calls the Heart season 7 premiere date hopes
Let’s start with a reminder that the season 7 renewal was ordered a little while ago, and this was Hallmark Channel making a very clear and very bold statement that they had confidence in the show’s future. We don’t have to tell you that When Calls the Heart has been through a lot over the course of the past few months, but it’s managed to persevere and keep fighting to be where it is now. What’s also worth noting is that in spite of so many of those headlines, its ratings are more less even, both in terms of total viewers and the 18-49 demographic, to the most-recent edition of the series. Abigail or no Abigail, the numbers are reasonably similar.
Let’s move now to the other important question here: When will When Calls the Heart season 7 premiere? That’s something that will fully be revealed later this year, but we foresee somewhat of a return to normalcy here. Typically, the Hallmark Channel series returns in February and runs through April, and that is precisely what we’re expecting moving forward this time. It’s only wrapping up later this year due to some of the circumstances we’ve already alluded to.
Story-wise, we imagine that the most exciting thing about season 7 is for the show to just return to normal. It will be less about trying to find a way to write a character out or other distractions and more strictly about the people who are present in Hope Valley. Elizabeth’s romantic future may be explored a little more fully following some of what we have in the finale, and we imagine that we’ll continue to see the wheels of change slowly move their way through Hope Valley. We think that there are a number of parallels between this show in Call the Midwife in hope they deal with the passage of time — they make sure that nothing stays precisely the same; yet, at the same time, they also find a way in order to ensure that there’s always an air of familiarity.
When Calls the Heart is, in the end, a comforting show. One of the primary reasons anyone watches is to feel moved and comforted by what they see, and that’s something that we certainly expect to continue to see on the series moving forward — whether it be with established characters or some new faces. We definitely expect for there to be one or two new arrivals in season 7, but not so many that the balance is upset.
