‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: First video of ‘Memorial’

If you thought that Thursday night’s season premiere for “The Vampire Diaries” was intense, we have one message for you: it’s going to be even crazier from here on out.

Now that we know what happened at the end of Thursday night’s new episode, we are betting that the image to the left of this article is actually some sort of memorial service for the Council, who were all unceremoniously blown up through what was both a shocker and a little bit of a cop-out in the closing seconds. We understand the value of trying to give some of the characters a fresh start now; however, we also think that it would have been rather interesting to see how the vampires continue to act if they were constantly under fear and suspicion in the town.

As for what else is going to see happen in this episode, get ready to meet a man who may very well be the new villain for the season: Connor, who is a vampire hunter who may have a distinct connection to the dearly departed. We still don’t quite know just where he comes from (or what his ties are to some members of this group), but this should create some incredibly exciting situations as we wee Elena, who looks as though she is having a snack in the promo, starting to get more and more immersed into vampire life. One thing we can guarantee? That if she does decide to feed on a human, it is going to lead to a rather quick and emotional response.
