So how are we going to see Sherlock figure this out? Assuming that he does, and we are personally assuming that he will, it’s probably going to take a certain sacrifice — our, Holmes putting himself in a rather unfortunate position. Take, for example, turning himself in. There’s a reason why this upcoming episode is entitled “The Price of Admission” — no matter what Sherlock does, there’s almost sure to be some sort of consequence on the other side of it. He’s going to have to pay the piper here somehow — it almost feels like what Rumpelstiltskin once said on Once Upon a Time, that magic always comes with a price. The only difference? This time around, there’s no magic. (Random irony: Once Upon a Time star Robert Carlyle and Jonny Lee Miller starred in Trainspotting together many years ago. That movie still doesn’t get enough praise, even if we recognize its cult status.)
Anyhow, let’s get back to the show now, and sharing the official Elementary season 7 episode 3 synopsis:
“The Price of Admission” – Holmes takes extreme measures to secure his return to New York when he leans on his father’s disreputable connections to aid his legal re-entry into the United States. Also, while Holmes looks for a way back to the United States, Watson helps the NYPD investigate a murder at a storage facility that caters to wealthy clients with items they want hidden from U.S. Customs, on ELEMENTARY, Thursday, June 6 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
Ultimately, we do wonder here if Sherlock is going to basically find himself in a position where he has to do something illegal in order to make up for what the US Government believes to be a similar crime. Other than breaking more laws, the only other way we could imagine Sherlock getting back in is if he makes some sort of unique deal where he ends up being a free consultant, almost where he serves his time helping out the city of New York. It almost feels like a different crime series when you think about it. Is this his endgame when it comes to turning himself in? It seems possible.
There’ll be plenty of time for theories over the next few days — we’ll almost certainly be discussing more at the link here. For now, that’s where you can see reviews and so much more.
