The 100 season 6 spoilers: More Josephine talk; is Clarke still alive?

Moving into Tuesday night’s new episode of The 100 season 6, there is quite a bit of reason for excitement. After all, we’re going to see Eliza Taylor play a whole new character in Josephine, a woman now within Clarke’s body and someone who thinks that she can be Clarke. As it turns out, though, this is really so much easier said than done.

In speaking on the subject of her new character via TV Guide, here is some of what Taylor had to say on the subject:

“Josephine is overly confident in the way she thinks that she can portray Clarke. She is going to run into some hurdles. There’s so much that she doesn’t know about the Spacekru. She’s probably going to stumble upon trouble … Josephine’s different from Clarke in almost every way, apart from the part that they’re both incredibly smart and studious … Josephine’s more sociopathic, I would say. Clarke is incredibly compassionate and caring to others. So for me, personally, getting to play someone who is manipulative and deceitful was actually a delight.”

As we imagined going into this episode tonight, this is going to be a thrill for Taylor as a performer. With Clarke, we have a character who is often caring for others and determined to try and lead when the situation calls for it. With Josephine, however, you have someone who is far more concentrated on herself and doing what she feels she needs to for her own benefit.

Of course, we imagine that it won’t take long for some of Clarke’s friends — those who care about her deeply — in order to get to the bottom of what is going on here. The only question that you have to wonder here on the other side is whether or not there is something that they can actually do about it. Are they going to be able to actually find some sort of help for Clarke, and is there a way to get her back?

We’ve said this before, and we’ll certainly say it again — we have a hard time imagining that Clarke is gone from this show completely. It may take longer than an episode or two, but we feel fairly confident in the notion that we are going to see this character again. It’s really just going to be a matter of time, and also a matter of means. It does give the writers another goal to play around with over the next few episodes that is very much different from what they often have. There’s excitement that comes with the change.
