‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Neve Campbell cast as…

Someone new is coming to “Grey’s Anatomy” later this year, and strangely enough, they already have quite a history with Patrick Dempsey.

According to a brand-new report from TVLine, Neve Campbell is going to be making an appearance on the hit ABC comedy later this year, and the role she will be playing will certainly have everyone talking. After all, it’s another one of Derek’s sisters! Over time, we have started to get the opportunity to meet a few more members of his family, and one of them is even on Shonda Rhimes’ sister show “Private Practice.” Based on what we know about the Shepherd family at this point, Campbell’s character is either a relatively unknown (and unmarried) woman, or she is a psychiatrist. In some ways, we are betting on the latter given that Derek has just recently gone through a rather traumatic situation with his hand, and it could take him a little bit of time to get himself all patched up again both physically and psychologically.

At the moment, Campbell is slated to appear in at least two episodes, but given this show it is possible that he could also stop by for a little bit more action down the road given how well-received her character is.

“Grey’s Anatomy” is on hiatus for the week thanks to the Vice-Presidential debate, but we are going to officially see more of the show again beginning next Thursday. At this point, hopefully we will have a better opportunity to move on from Mark Sloan after watching his character die during the first two episodes of the season. (Based on what we are hearing, it also looks as though Dane is moving on himself.)

What do you think of this casting, and how weird do you find it given that these two previously worked together on “Scream 3” as love interests?
