Elementary season 7 episode 2 preview: ‘Gunshot,’ Sherlock in two worlds

Curious to know what lies ahead on Elementary season 7 episode 2? Well, through “Gunshot” you will have an opportunity to see one of Sherlock Holmes’ biggest problems rearing its head once more — and by that, we mean his ability to actually go back to his adopted country. He’s based from the United States, as a result of the decisions that he made at the end of season 6. Of course, it’s easy in a whole lot of ways to refer to his actions as admirable, given that he was willing to fall on the sword for the sake of someone else. Yet, at the same time, you can’t quite dismiss, either, the fact that the government won’t see them that way. This is the deal that he has … but it sure makes solving cases in America problematic.

What Captain Gregson and Detective Bell probably realize at this point is that few people can solve cases quite like Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson. With their powers combined, they can pull a needle out of just about any haystack. That’s what makes it so complicated to not have them, and maybe that’s a part of Sherlock being sent away that they initially took for granted. Maybe this episode gets us closer to the two characters coming home — after all, we don’t imagine that we’re going to see these two characters away from their typical element forever!

“Gutshot” – Holmes and Watson try to work a stateside investigation from London when someone close to them is gravely wounded by an unknown perpetrator in the United States. However, Holmes’ stateside legal trouble – the result of a confession to a murder he didn’t commit – threatens to derail their efforts, on ELEMENTARY, Thursday, May 30 (10:00-11:00, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.

This episode feels almost like a stepping stone to what’s coming up down the road, but we do also think that we’ll have a chance to see some other exciting stuff within it — every Elementary case has plenty of quirks and charms, and we certainly do not think that this time around is going to be any different. We’re expecting twists, turns, and some interesting resolution.
