Is NCIS: New Orleans new tonight? A look towards season 6

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 premiere

Is NCIS: New Orleans new tonight on CBS? We certainly know that there will be some enthusiasm to dive into whatever is next with this series, especially since Pride is back in the Big Easy, Apollyon is gone, and it feels like all is (slowly) coming back to normal. Alas, it’s too bad that last week’s episode was designed to be the finale.

Rather than leave you off this time around on some sort of horrific cliffhanger, the crime procedural clearly thought it better to move things into a different direction for season 6 — they tied together most of the primary loose ends, and that leaves us in a position where we’re actually left to question what could be coming. Luckily, we’re here and happy to do so!

If you look below, you can see a few different questions that we’re wondering now — and we’ve got a good feeling that some more are going to be coming throughout the months ahead.

1. Will Pride start off season 6 in a good spot? – At the moment, it actually feels like he could! This is, clearly, a guy who’s gone through a lot of tough stuff as of late in between almost dying multiple times and mourning the loss of his father. We want to see him have a little bit of time off over the hiatus, that way he can come back into the new season in a little bit of a better place — and with a little bit less constantly stressing him out. It certainly feels like it would do him a lot of good to just be more of his old self.

2. Will there be more music and New Orleans culture? – As much as we enjoyed the action and high stakes of the Apollyon story, it doesn’t change the fact that a big part of us wishes that there was a little bit more of an opportunity to actually dive in and explore even more of this great city. We’re hoping to get these characters back around the music and, of course, the food — one of the things we always enjoy is an opportunity to be hungry while we’re sitting around and watching the show.

3. What will the big stories be for some of the supporting cast? – We’ve been on the record already in saying that it would be great to see a little bit more of Lasalle in season 6, we’d be game for a little more of some other familiar faces, as well. Take, for example, whether or not we’ll be able to see more of Wade with LeVar Burton’s Nero, or if it is possible that we could explore more of Sebastian and Gregorio’s incredibly-entertaining living situation? This show’s got such a great, entertaining supporting cast and hopefully, we’ll have chances to dive into all of their backstory a little bit more.

4. Who will the main villain be? – Given that this show does such a good job with these sort of adversaries, we have to think that there is someone else we’re going to have a chance to see following what happened to Walker. Since season 6 does feel in some ways like a reset for the story, that does open the door for almost anyone to enter the fray. That’s something we imagine the writers will piece together as this summer goes along.
