The Bachelorette episode 3 spoilers: Cam’s sad story + ‘pity rose’ attempt

Want to know what’s coming on The Bachelorette episode 3 next week? Obviously, there’s going to be more drama. We’re still in the early stages of the competition, but we’re starting to get a sense of some of the important people to watch — for good and bad reasons. That’s gonna continue, as Hannah Brown will be forced to make some tricky decisions as to who to keep and who to send packing.

So what do we know is coming? Well, based on the promo that aired after tonight’s episode, there is some more drama that is coming up sooner rather than later. Luke is going to be hyper-aggressive in his pursuit of Hannah, and apparently, Cam is going to tell a “sad story” in hopes of getting a “pity rose” at the end of it. Obviously, this feels like the sort of thing that is going to get the guy booted. His whole “Always Be Cam” strategy is going to blow up for him because of how he’s seemingly forcing the issue rather than getting a genuine connection.

With Cam, we think that he seems The Bachelorette as a series of big TV moments and not something based on real emotion. Maybe this is just a product of the environment, but all of this is a sudden twist from a guy who, in the early going, seemed to be a frontrunner after his performance during the After the Final Rose special. It seemed like he was going to be able to get all the way to at least the top ten.

As for who are the contestants to watch, obviously you’ve gotta throw Luke P. pretty high on the list just because he’s gotten so much attention … and he’s also told Hannah already that he loves her, which is kind of shocking for it being so early in the competition. Yet, whatever spell he’s trying to put on her right now is working. Maybe it is all genuine, but it does feel like the show is setting up something dramatic for him moving forward.

We’re also a fan of Mike at the moment, who seems to be soft-spoken, genuine, and the sort of person who would be a great candidate for The Bachelor — at least if production wants to make that move. We are still waiting for the first African-American man to be the lead of this show, and while it’s too early to really start getting serious about Bachelor choices, we still have his name in our mind.
