Chicago Fire season 7 finale video: Will Brett act on her feelings?
From the standpoint of Brett, it’s clear that she does have some feelings for him, based on how she reacts at the end of the sneak peek below (via Us Weekly). you can see Brett wrestle with her emotions after seeing Casey doing some of what he does best — take care of others. This is a story that has been brewing for a while, but it’s obviously uncomfortable. Dawson and Brett were such close friends, and there’s probably a part of being with your friend’s ex-husband that is challenging and difficult. Yet, sometimes the heart also wants what the heart wants. Love can be messy and you can’t just avoid that and pretend as though it’s not true.
Of course, there is another reason to be unsure as to what exactly is going to happen: Brett may not act on anything at all. She doesn’t know how Casey feels, and obviously the idea of putting yourself SO far out there only to end up hurt is probably on her mind. There’s also probably another complication here, given that these two characters do work together and are going to continue to work together, most likely, for some time. If you make the wrong move and it hurts the working relationship, that’s bad news. This is a very difficult line that Brett is walking with Casey, and if a single wrong move is made, you do have to worry that you’re not going to be able to come back.
If you do love quality drama, though, this episode of Chicago Fire is going to bring it. While some of the relationship drama in the finale is worthwhile, there is another element of drama to think about here — the idea that we could lose a character like Kelly Severide, who is going to do whatever he can to resolve Benny’s old case, no matter the consequences or no matter whatever sort of pain it brings him. This is a season that is going to leave your heart probably in your throat — look at past Chicago Fire finales in the event you want a little bit more evidence as to what could happen as we wind things down here.
At least you know that there is a season 8 on the other side, right? No matter how crazy things are getting in the Windy City, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
