‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Ian McShane is in!

Ryan Murphy continues to be the mastermind when it comes to great casting, and now, he’s found another big-name to go toe-to-toe with Jessica Lange on the upcoming second season of “American Horror Story.”

In a new post on his official Twitter account, Murphy had the following to say about a certain star of “Deadwood” making an appearance for the season:

“Guess who’s coming to #AmericanHorrorStory Asylum to tussle with Jessica Lange? Legendary Golden Globe winner Ian McShane!”

Unfortunately, there really are not any further details available about McShane’s casting at this time, but we have to say that it is in our mind a pretty enormous get for this show. He also joins James Cromwell as new additions to this season that bring a significant awards pedigree to the series. Based on how deep they are in the season, though, it is probably fair to say that we are probably not going to be seeing much of him at all through the early part of this season.

Some of the already-announced new faces for this season include the likes of Adam Levine, Marc Consuelos, Jenna Dewan Tatum, and even a returning guest star in “Modern Family” actor Eric Stonestreet, who will be once again stopping by for a one-episode appearance a few episodes into this episode.

Have you been hungering for this show? Luckily, the wait is almost over. The new season of the show is getting ready to launch starting on Wednesday, October 17, and will run at that spot until it wraps things up close to Christmas.

What do you think about this casting?
