The Blacklist season 6 episode 21 video: Cooper vs. Anna McMahon

Tonight, The Blacklist season 6 episode 21 is airing, and we don’t have to tell you that this one is big. After all, we’re gearing up for a big showdown with Cooper and Anna McMahon.

What we know about McMahon already is quite simple — she’s dangerous. Very dangerous. She’s involved in some sort of top-level conspiracy that could damage the future of this country, and that there is some sort of dossier that contains many of the secrets that she’s trying to hide. Raymond Reddington is after it — probably because there is something within this that he’s trying to bury — and for now, the Task Force seems intent on helping him out. The interests here are clearly aligned, especially since McMahon is overseeing the Task Force and the obvious conflict of interest there is quite clear.

In the new sneak peek below (via TV Guide), you get to see a showdown between one Harold Cooper and McMahon, who seems very much keen on shutting down the Task Force by any means necessary. Cooper isn’t holding back now, and he is making it abundantly clear to her just some of what he’s planning to do when it comes to the dossier. He tells her that he knows about her plot, even if he doesn’t quite know what said plot is.

This is what makes these final two episodes, tonight’s and next week’s finale “Robert Diaz,” all the more intriguing. for everything that we know when it comes to The Blacklist, Raymond Reddington, and his new apparent identity of Ilya Koslov (we still don’t 100% believe it), there are still many different things that we don’t quite know. Take for example, what happened to “Ilya” in the years that followed his first job … or also what McMahon’s endgame really is at the moment. These are questions that should be answered as these final episodes ramp up the intensity and prepare to punch us right smack in the face with some more insight. Of course, we don’t presume that there are going to be TOO many answers, given the fact that there is already a season 7 renewal out there and there’s no need to worry that much about the writers having to conjure up a fitting ending out of nowhere.

Fingers crossed that “Anna McMahon” provides us with all of the proper setup to the finale that we need — if nothing else, we do think that she’s a worthy adversary in that she’s got so much power, and also apparently sway over what President Diaz does on a daily basis.
