Power season 6 will be the final season on Starz; see statement
So why end the show now? It really seems to be a creative reason more so than any other, given that story-wise, Power easily had the momentum and the ability to stick around for a rather long stretch of time. This is also one of the network’s top-rated shows, but Starz can at least celebrate the fact that when Power returns, it will be doing so with a much larger than usual 15-episode run. That means that there will be ample time to tell the remainder of James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s story, in addition to everyone else’s within the ensemble.

Now, let’s get to sharing a number of statements from some of the people involved in the series.
Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz – “Season 6 brings us to the end of what we know is just the first chapter of the ’Power’ story. However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin … Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent have created a world rich with complex and dynamic characters and there are a number of stories we plan to tell as we continue to explore and expand the ‘Power’ universe.”
Courtney A. Kemp, executive producer – “We will follow some of your beloved ‘Power’ characters beyond the scope of the initial series … But we will play with your expectations of which characters, where, and the master timeline of it all, creating a ‘Power’ universe as unpredictable as the original.”
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, executive producer – “The last 5 seasons of ‘Power’ have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans. We are far from over and I am excited to bring you more from the ‘Power’ brand … I am proud that I was able to put a lasting stamp on this chapter with my directorial debut in an episode that features one of the wildest scenes ever on the show.”
What will the final legacy of Power be?
For us, it really is one of the strongest and most-underrated shows of its kind out there, one that is anchored by some incredible performances to go along with a story that is as dark and twisted as they come. We don’t know why it hasn’t gotten more respect for its tragic narrative or some of its interesting character face-offs, but it’s going to be one that we personally remember for quite some time moving into the future.
