Elementary season 7 spoilers: Kitty Winter officially returning!
In a new promo released over at TVLine, you can see that the character (played by Ophelia Lovibond) is going to be back to spend a little bit of time with both Sherlock and Joan in London. That is where the two characters relocated at the end of season 6 — a moment that was born out of necessity more so than something that Sherlock really wanted for himself. Now, the two are going to try and keep their investigative business going — in some ways, this was will be more familiar to fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle than anything we’ve seen to date. Yet, it’s also going to feel rather different for this particular iteration of the show — rather strange, even. This isn’t the same Elementary that you’ve come to know and enjoy over the past few seasons.

So why bring Kitty back at this point? Well, the promo suggests that a part of it may have to do with informing Joan that she’s obviously unhappy (as if she didn’t know already), and recognizing that she is obviously trying to shake things up … hence her new blonde look.
Could this be the impetus of the show eventually heading back to America? It could at least be a part of it … but not the only part. Of course, we do think that there are other hoops to jump through since Sherlock can’t exactly just come back to the country. There will be some other pieces to the puzzle. We also know that somehow, Detective Bell and Gregson are both still going to be a part of the series, even if it’s not entirely clear just how that is going to happen.
Who else do we want to see?
Obviously, at the top of the list is one Natalie Dormer, given that Moriarty/Irene Adler is such a central part of the Sherlock Holmes mythology. We know that she has expressed a return in coming back in the past, but scheduling has long been an issue — such is the case when you have a former Game of Thrones star playing the role, and she is also bouncing around and doing a number of other movie roles in addition to Picnic at Hanging Rock.
