FBI finale spoilers: Will Maggie learn truth about husband’s death?

Next week, FBI episode 22 is airing on CBS, and it goes without saying it’s big. This is the finale that we’re talking about here! This is a chance to see a number of major events transpire, especially when it comes to Maggie trying to figure out the truth behind one of the most pivotal events of her life. This is where she could start to get some element of closure on what happened to her late husband. There’s a reason why this installment is entitled “Closure” — the truth could actually start to come to light.

For Maggie, we imagine that she is spending a considerable amount of time struggling to sleep over what happened, and wondering if there is a way to actually take this part of the past and heal from it. This episode could be an opportunity for that, but the problem is that someone critical to getting answers is going to be slipping away. She’s going to have to find this woman … but then what Maggie also finds on the other side of this could blow the whole case wide open. There could be something larger and more shocking at the center of what happened than she ever expected. It’s possible that there could still be some resolution here, or that it could carry over and be a larger part of season 2.

“Closure” – A woman with information about the death of Maggie’s husband is abducted leading the team to uncover a criminal operation larger than anyone imagined. Also, Dana puts her career in jeopardy by standing by and allowing Maggie to work on the case, which has such a personal connection to her, on the first season finale of FBI, Tuesday, May 14 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

If you’ve watched enough police shows over the years, we probably don’t have to tell you why the idea of Maggie working on this case is so bad — it’s often discouraged that detectives/agents don’t get too involved on a case where they have a deep personal investment. It’s putting yourself in a position where you may do something reckless, and also put your life or your partner’s life in danger for the sake of getting answers. That’s a big risk for Dana to take, but it feels like a whole lot of the gamble is going to be based on how much she knows about Maggie and the trust that they’ve built together. We’ve seen plenty of examples of this play out already during season 1. That’s why she feels safe.
