American Idol results: Were Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laci Kaye Booth eliminated?

American IdolTonight’s American Idol results brought the potential for all sorts of unpredictability. This is the first night where there wasn’t a wild-card still left at the start of the evening. To go along with that, this is also the final night that the save can be used — which is a further reminder that the save would be used tonight.

Going into the results, there weren’t too many people that we were 100% confident about, but we did know that Laine Hardy had a tremendous fan following and, beyond that, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon has winner potential. Alejandro Aranda at one point seemed like the chosen one, but there’s another issue at play here — his vocals just aren’t at the level of everyone else. While he’s an exceptional composer and artist, this isn’t really the sort of competition that someone like him can win. That isn’t something that was clear to us in the early going, but that is certainly clear to us now.

Ultimately, we knew that the Save was going to be used — it’s mostly just a matter of the show wanting the best theater, and finding the right person to use it on that will excite a number of fans moving forward.

Let’s get to sharing the results now…

What happened? Well, consider this the most shocking result of the season, after Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon and Laci Kaye Booth were, somehow, both in the bottom two. How did this happen over Wade, who managed to deliver more middle-of-the-road performances? It seems likely based on just the American Idol voting demographic — we really shouldn’t be shocked by this, but yet, here we are in the same way that we are every other season of the series.

Well, here’s where the next big surprise came out — Laci ended up being the one saved! We loved Laci, but it felt like Jeremiah was the consensus favorite to get back to the end of the season, and yet here we are — he’s gone from the competition. We didn’t want to see this happen so soon, especially with the configuration we now have.

Hey, it’s American Idol. This show does some crazy stuff sometimes — America has a lot of power and they always manage to find a way to use it.
